Trash & Recycling Collection Info

Lumber, tree branches, and brush must be cut into 4 foot lengths, and tied in bundles not exceeding two (2) feet in diameter.

Large objects such as appliances (refrigerators and freezer must have doors removed), water tanks, and furniture are picked up from the tree lawn on regular collection days. Please call 216-587-9014 or complete the form below to arrange to have large items picked up. Mattresses and box springs MUST be wrapped in plastic bag! Cloth or upholstered furniture must also be wrapped in plastic!!

Refuse may be placed on the tree lawn no earlier than 6:00 PM the day before collection, and cans must be removed from the tree lawn no later than 6:00 AM the following day. Refuse is collected one day late the week of an observed holiday. *NEW TRASH LIMITS* Waste Management has a strict limit of only 2 extra items outside of your regular trash cart- i.e. 2 extra bags, 2 extra trash cans, 2 large bulky items- or any combination there-of. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Maple Heights has a two-service day collection schedule for refuse and recycling is collected every other week.

Holiday Schedule

New Years – trash collection may be delayed by one (1) day. Check the City’s homepage and social media for updates.

Martin Luther King Jr Day – trash collection days will remain the same

Easter/Good Friday – trash collection days will remain the same

Memorial Day – trash collection will have a one (1) day delay

Recycling Info

Combine these items in your green curbside recycling container:

CANS: Includes all metal food and beverage cans such as pop, beer, soup, vegetable, and tuna. Cans should be emptied, rinsed, and then recycled.

CARTONS: Includes milk, juice, soup and broth plus wine cartons. Cartons should be emptied and rinsed. Replace the cap and place in your curbside recycling.

GLASS: Includes glass food and beverage bottles and jars. Empty, rinse and replace the lid before recycling. You do not need to remove the label.

PAPER & BOXES: All paper and boxes can be recycled, including newspapers, magazines, junk mail, boxes, greeting cards, cereal boxes, cardboard, phone books and clean pizza boxes. Flatten cardboard items, like cereal boxes, to save space.

PLASTIC BOTTLES: Any plastic bottle, jar, jug or tub can be placed in your curbside recycling. Recycle plastic food and beverage bottles, cosmetics and personal products, and laundry detergent and bleach bottles. Containers should be emptied and rinsed. Replace the cap and put in your curbside recycling.

Heavy Item Request Form
