Home Relief Grant Starting November 2, 2020, Ohioans who owe rent, mortgage, water and/or sewer utility bills back to April 1, 2020 can apply for funding to help get caught up on these bills. Depending on the funding request, documentation related to the bills due will be required; for example, an eviction or past due rent notice, notice of late mortgage payment, utility bill demonstrating the account has been shut off, etc. More information and the application are available at businesshelp.ohio.gov.
Housing Enhancement Loan Program (HELP) Provides homeowners of occupied or investment properties in eligible Cuyahoga County communities home improvement loans, at three percentage points below normal bank rates, for home repair or remodeling projects. Applications are available at any branch of these participating banks: KeyBank and Huntington Bank branch. For additional information please call (216) 443-2149.
Property Tax Abatement Program The City offers property tax incentives for homeowners who make qualifying improvements to their homes, such as finishing their basement, adding a bedroom or bathroom onto a home, or constructing a new home. Senior Property Tax Loan Administered by ESOP, senior residents aged 55 and older and who are owner occupants may be eligible for a loan of up to $6,500 to catch up on their Cuyahoga County property taxes. Sewer Cost-Savings Program The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) offers several cost-savings programs, including for seniors, income-limited families, plumbing repairs, and summer watering savings. Learn more about eligibility guidelines and how to apply on NEORSD’s website.

Cuyahoga County Board of Health Lead Poisoning Prevention Program Provides a variety of services including: Blood lead testing, environmental assessments of the home, healthcare provider information, case management for children with elevated blood levels, free home repairs, and the HEPA Vacuum Loaner Program.
