2021 Paint the City Program The 2021 Paint the City Program is a City pilot program authorized by the Maple Heights City Council through Ordinance 2021-26. The Program provides a free voucher to applicants who are owner-occupants, current on their property taxes, and income qualify. Home Relief Grant Starting November 2, 2020, Ohioans who owe rent, mortgage, water and/or sewer utility bills back to April 1, 2020 can apply for funding to help get caught up on these bills. Depending on the funding request, documentation related to the bills due will be required; for example, an eviction or past due rent notice, notice of late mortgage payment, utility bill demonstrating the account has been shut off, etc. More information and the application are available at businesshelp.ohio.gov.
HELP Program Administered by Cuyahoga County that reduces the prime rate by 3%. Applications are available at any KeyBank and Huntington Bank branch. Cuyahoga County Home Repair Program Administered by CHN Housing Partners. Eligible projects include roofing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, exterior painting, porches, stairs, gutters, walks and driveways. Approved homeowners may be eligible for up to $20,000 with a 0% deferred mortgage, which is due at the sale of the home. Homeowners with Homestead Exemption may also qualify for a 0% deferred mortgage that is forgiven after 5 years. Property Tax Abatement Program The City offers property tax incentives for homeowners who make qualifying improvements to their homes, such as finishing their basement, adding a bedroom or bathroom onto a home, or constructing a new home. Safe at Home Program Administered by Rebuilding Together Northeast Ohio, homeowners with a disability or over the age of 60, current on their property taxes, and income limited can receive assistance with projects such as handrails, grab bars, smoke & CO detectors, doorknobs and deadbolts, door repairs, security lighting, and minor bathroom modifications. Senior Property Tax Loan Administered by ESOP, senior residents aged 55 and older and who are owner occupants may be eligible for a loan of up to $6,500 to catch up on their Cuyahoga County property taxes.
