CITY OF MAPLE HEIGHTS AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS STORYBOOK TRAIL GRANT

The City of Maple Heights has been awarded a $6000+ Storybook Trail Grant from ODNR, in partnership with the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library.  ODNR launched the Storybook Trail program in 2019 and partnered with the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in 2020.

The Maple Heights Storybook Trail will be located within Stafford Park; and will become part of a larger system of established Storybook Trails throughout the State of Ohio.

There are currently 19 half-mile Storybook Trails located at state parks and library districts throughout Ohio, each with 16 child-height panels featuring pages of a children’s book and an activity relating to the text found within the book.  Children, along with their families and caregivers will be able to enjoy the outdoors together, while experiencing more opportunities for literacy engagement.  This is a very wonderful opportunity for all of the residents of Maple Heights; and we will share more details on when this Storybook Trail will be opening, tentatively slated for 2023.
