MAPLE HEIGHTS EXTERIOR HOME REPAIR GRANT PROGRAM AWARDS 42 RESIDENTIAL GRANTS

The City of Maple Heights, with additional funding provided by both Cuyahoga County and the Cleveland Foundation, has awarded 42 residential grants to assist with the cost of homeowner exterior home projects.

“The Exterior Home Maintenance Grant program grew from the City’s desire to directly support residents, who share in the goal of responsible property stewardship.  Qualifying residents interested in a repair project likely otherwise deferred, have been given another path toward maintaining dignified housing, addressing code violations, and lengthening the life span of their residence,” Joe Duffy, Planning and Development Director.

Mayor Annette Blackwell agrees. “The City of Maple Heights was happy to launch this important pilot program over Summer 2022. Much direct feedback was shared between City staff, residents, and contractors which will be used in evaluating the program’s effectiveness and in the consideration of how the City approaches direct residential services going forward,” Blackwell stated.

The transformations are quite remarkable.  Please see the below ‘before’ and ‘after’ images of the residential roof,  images provided by the resident, and used with resident permission.

A press release is additionally available for viewing on the city’s website; under The Office of The Mayor link/press releases.
