2023 MAPLE HEIGHTS ROAD REPAIR PROGRAM

Chagrin Valley Engineering, under the direction of the City Engineer and the Service Department, has submitted their recommendation for the City of Maple Heights 2023 Maple Heights Road Repair Program.  The City of Maple Heights will be expending over $2.1 million dollars on the 2023 Road Repair Program which will resurface twenty-one (21) streets.  The work under this year’s program will also include the resurfacing of the Food Pantry Parking Lot, the expansion of public parking at City Hall, and a pilot program to install temporary “Speed Tables” in targeted residential areas to help reduce traffic speed.

The Service Department and the City Engineer rely upon the citywide pavement inspection to help develop the pavement maintenance plan for 2023 and beyond.   In making recommendations for the streets to be resurfaced/repaired under the annual Maple Heights Roadway Repair Program the Service Department and Chagrin Valley Engineering consider the following factors:

1.)ROADWAY CONDITION

2.) AVAILABILITY OF OUTSIDE FUNDING SOURCES FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS AND/OR OTHER PROJECTS WHICH WILL INCLUDE PAVEMENT REPAIRS

3.) EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF ROADWAY CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUNDS THROUGHOUT THE REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL DISTRICTS

4.) AMOUNT OF LOCAL SCMR FUNDS AVAILABLE

The total cost to repair/resurface roadways that are currently in marginal condition exceed our available funding.  It will take some time to restore all of the roadways to a reasonable condition or better but we are continuing to move forward.

Please reach out to the City Councilperson representing your District to inquire about the status, schedule of your street repair.
