THE CITY OF MAPLE HEIGHTS AWARDED THIRD CONSECUTIVE SERVEOHIO MLK DAY OF SERVICE GRANT
The City of Maple Heights is pleased to share that the city has been awarded a 2025 ServeOhio MLK Day of Service Grant.
ServeOhio, the Governor-appointed commission on service and volunteerism, announced grant awards to support 22 local Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service projects throughout January totaling more than $20,000. Much like Dr. King’s legacy, these grants will help nonprofits across the state improve their communities through service and volunteer activities. The grants will fund service projects in seventeen Ohio cities led by more than 1,600 volunteers.
This year, the city was awarded a $1,000 grant to prepare ‘Mommy Bags’. These bags will provide resources and supplies for the basic needs of a new mother during her hospital stay. The project aims to relieve some of the stress associated with preparing for childbirth; and the completed bags will be donated to the non-profit organization, Pregnant With Possibilities Resource Center, located here in Maple Heights. #ServeOhio #MLKDay2025
