WHEREAS, in this Proclamation, the Office of the Mayor of the City of Maple Heights acknowledges Pride Month, June 2025.

WHEREAS, I understand that this is an important opportunity to honor the LGBTQIA+ community and to convey the message that the City of Maple Heights is an inclusive city where every LGBTQIA+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved; and

WHEREAS, this Proclamation is more than a performative act, but to both celebrate and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBTQIA+ people have made to our city; and

WHEREAS, during this month, we reflect on the progress that communities have made so far in pursuit of equality, justice, and inclusion; and

WHEREAS, our LGBTQIA+ family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and others continue to enrich every aspect of American life as educators, entertainers, entrepreneurs, athletes, actors, artists, scientists, scholars, diplomats, doctors, service members, veterans, and so much more; and   

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Annette M. Blackwell, Mayor of the City of Maple Heights, Ohio, join in the celebration of Pride Month, which represents visibility, resistance, and the celebration of diverse identities all around the globe.
