Southgate Connectivity Study

Southgate Connectivity Study2021-10-07T11:44:44-04:00

Following the completion and adoption of the City’s Master Development Plan in 2018, the City applied to the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) for grant funding to help implement part of the Master Development Plan’s recommendations along Warrensville Center Road and Libby Road around Southgate USA. The application was for the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) which helps study and plan improvements to streets to support all types of transportation, including pedestrians, public transit riders, cars, and bicyclists. The City was awarded an $80,000 grant to work with City Architecture to develop the Southgate Connectivity Study.

Work began in 2019 and has continued through today focusing on conversations with community stakeholders, City Administration and Council, and Community Meetings to develop a plan that promotes the safe use of Warrensville Center Road and Libby Road no matter your type of transportation.

Work Recently Completed: The Study was finalized, presented to a joint meeting of the Committee of the Whole and Planning and Zoning Commission on September 29, 2021, and adopted by City Council on October 6, 2021.
