The Economic Development Department works to retain existing businesses in the community and assist them in expanding their facilities, while attracting new companies.
Economic Development serves as a one stop information shop for federal, states and county programs that aid businesses. The department also disperses information about finance, exporting, employee training and tax incentive programs. Assistance is offered to companies participating in these government programs throughout the entire process.
We encourage Maple Heights businesses to complete our Business Contact Form so we can better serve you.
On October 10, 2017, in recognition of Manufacturing Month, State Representative John Barnes joined Mayor Annette M. Blackwell and former VP of Workforce Development for MAGNET, Ken McCreight at the Mayor’s First Annual Event. Held at the Senior Center on Libby Rd, this event focused on employee recruitment and retention strategies.
Furthering Mayor Blackwell’s workforce development initiative, she invited students from Maple Heights High School to join the conversation and personally speak with each manufacturing company that attended. After the event, students and event attendees accompanied the Mayor on a tour of Clifton Steel, one of Maple Heights major employers.
