Happy Thanksgiving  !  (trash pickup delayed one day)

Mayor Annette M. Blackwell

Welcomes you to the

City of Maple Heights website

NEORSD Information

Message from Mayor Blackwell:

In the month of October, I have had the opportunity to engage in two very highly recognized continuing education programs, The National League of Cities Leadership Summit, in San Diego, CA for Mayors, City Commissioners and City Councilmembers from all over the country as far away as Alaska and the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Civic Leadership Institute, a local leadership program that educates, connects, inspires and engages leaders to drive positive community change where they are positioned to make the most significant impact.

I have committed to six, early-morning, 90-minutes sessions which are held at various locations throughout downtown Cleveland to get an exclusive insight into what’s going on in the civic community from the people directly involved in the civic and corporate infrastructures at the highest level, which include College Professors of Research, CEOs consultants and other corporate executives. The goal of the program is to help key employees of local nonprofit companies or leaders of government entities acquire new, timely insights and knowledge about current topics; a greater understanding of how national/regional

circumstances impact our local businesses and cities and provides an opportunity for them

to meet and interact with top civic and business leaders in small group settings.

While these engagements and commitments take me out of the office and away

from the city they are very important to my success in my role as Mayor and Chief Executive

Officer of Maple Heights. During my almost two years in office, I have come to know for

certain that our help is beyond our city’s borders and that we must position ourselves where

the resources are and align ourselves with the people who have both the answers and the

route to a better, safer and more successful city.
